What we do.

A portfolio of our ecommerce and brochure web design projects.

Shopify Stores

Gibsons of Haddington

Shopify Store and Point of Sale

Verdant Spark created a new Shopify store for this well established East Lothian gift shop. In addition to migrating their old WooCommerce store to Shopify, we also installed Shopify point of sale so that their inventory is easier to manage across the two sales channels.

From a user experience perspective we wanted to recreate the instore experience as much as possible, working with the Gibsons team to create product collections to help users find what they are looking for easily but also encouraging users to browse.

The theme selected by Verdant Spark fits the brand perfectly and is very fast, acheiving high page speed scores and improving the user experience.

Minato Sushi

Shopify Store & Private App Development

Verdant Spark created a Shopify ecommerce store with a private application that facilitates order management for Minato Sushi, an East Lothian based sushi business.

We worked with Jen and Tom at Minato to create a back end Shopify application that makes their business easier to manage on a day to day basis.

Customers are able to choose a delivery day on the cart page and request a delivery slot, and feedback on the new site has been extremely positive.

Black & Gold Oil

Shopify Store

Black & Gold Oil are a local East Lothian food producer who needed a new website with ecommerce functionality. Shopify was the obvious choice and the simple, elegant theme used highlights the fabulous new product photography by Emma Martin Photography. A recipe blog was created to showcase the many uses of the products and the new local pickup and delivery options available within Shopify have been used to encourage local customers.

Rosemary Wild

Shopify Store

Verdant Spark created a Shopify ecommerce store for Rosemary Wild, a fantastic startup business selling natural fabrics and craft kits. Rosemary Wild had an existing Etsy store and we were able to migrate the existing products over to Shopify.

Shopify was the clear choice for an online store and the theme selected allows tag filtering on collection pages, perfect for making it easy for fabric shoppers find the fabrics they are looking for.

Rosemary Wild offers free local delivery so the Shopify local delivery option was set up using postcodes so users with an address within the free delivery zone are offered the option for free delivery at checkout.

The In Accessories

Shopify Store

The In Accessories needed an upgrade from an old Opencart store that they found difficult to manage and Verdant Spark migrated the old store to a brand new Shopify site!

The new site is faster, easier to navigate for users and much easier for the store owner to manage.

The Daisy Chain

Shopify Store and Theme Customisation

The Daisy Chain are a florist based in East Lothian who had an existing Joomla website but were looking for a new site that would enable them to sell online but also showcase their wedding and event floral design services.

In addition to the store setup Verdant Spark added Shopify theme customisations including a date picker in the cart and page templates including a gallery section.

The Crafty Kit Company

Shopify Store & Theme Customisation

The Crafty Kit Company are a local company in East Lothian, but with an international reach. Having operated for the last 7 years using an OpenCart based solution, the operation was stretching the limits of that platform. Together with Jo, we redesigned the site to freshen it and migrate all of her products and core content into Shopify, with particular focus on the user experience for her key user persona to ensure that all collections and products are easy to find.

Doon Honey

Shopify Store

You might recognise one half of Verdant Spark in this one – Lisa is a beekeeper in her spare time and needed a way to sell the honey the bees produce. Having run a Shopify store for her last business it was a no-brainer to use Shopify again!

This site is a great example of how you can use the free Debut theme and customise it to suit your products. Our customisations included adding accordion sections to product descriptions and changing the mobile hero layout.

The Mad Scrapper

Shopify Store

The Mad Scrapper, a scrapbooking and craft supplies store in Haddington, needed a more poweful ecommerce solution as their previous WooCommerce site was slow and not suited to a store with a large number of SKUs. A Shopify store was the obvious solution and our main focus was user experience, making sure customers are able to find the products they are looking for easily and quickly but also encouraging them to browse based on product category and brand.

Bostock Pizza

Shopify Store & App Development

Bostock Bakery wanted to bring back their famous pizza nights during the COVID-19 lockdown. Verdant Spark created a Shopify store with custom application development that allows customers to order pizzas for a specific collection slot.

U’ve Pulled

Shopify Store & Custom App Development

U’ve Pulled serve delicious pulled meats at markets and events and during COVID-19 needed to pivot their offering to include delivery and collection. Verdant Spark replaced their Wix website with a Shopify store with custom development of a bespoke Shopify application to allow ordering for collection or delivery within a specified geographical area.

Crafty Kit Company Trade Store

Shopify Store & Custom App Development

This Shopify store mimics the look and feel of The Crafty Kit Company consumer store but required custom development to fulfill the requirements of the client; that customers must apply and be approved before being able to view wholesale pricing and place orders. To aid the transition process to the new store, a customer support button was added so Verdant Spark could deal with support issues, saving the client time.

Spice Pots

Shopify Store & Theme Customisation

Verdant Spark recently undertook a redesign of the Spice Pots Shopify store. Spice Pots are an East Lothian business that make delicious spice blends. Their old site needed a refresh so we installed a new theme which was then customised to suit their brand and products.

Verdant Spark created custom landing pages for their two blogs so they could group blog posts into categories that would be easy for users to navigate.

The Big Blu

Shopify Store & Bespoke App Development

A fantastic East Lothian business hit by Covid-19 lockdown, The Big Blu needed to rapidly shift from in person sales to online ordering and delivery.

The work included custom development of delivery day management based on postcode entered, and a bespoke back end admin Shopify application that aggregates orders to show daily totals of pizzas ordered so the client knows exactly how many bases to make the day before.

Chris has also done an amazing job reformulating his pizzas so they are initially fired in The Big Blu’s oven and then topped, so the customer just has to bake in their own oven.

Bostock Bakery

Shopify Store & Custom App Development

We recently created a Shopify online store for Bostock Bakery in East Linton. Due to Covid-19 they needed to rapidly shift to online ordering and delivery.

The work included custom development of a date picker for delivery day selection, and a back end Shopify application that aggregates orders to show daily totals of items ordered so that the bakery knows order volumes to bake for each day’s delivery.
