A selection of web design projects undertaken by Verdant Spark featuring Shopify stores, Squarespace, and WordPress websites.
The Crafty Kit Company
The Crafty Kit Company are a local company in East Lothian, but with an international reach. Having operated for the last 7 years using an OpenCart based solution, the operation was stretching the limits of that platform. Together with Jo, we redesigned the site to freshen it and migrate all of her products and core content into Shopify, with particular focus on the user experience for her key user persona to ensure that all collections and products are easy to find.
Kushboo Soaps required a new e-commerce website to replace their old WooCommerce site. Their new Shopify store tells the story of the brand, highlighting the products and gifts available and also emphasises the charitable aims of the company.
Having built the new Shopify store for The Scottish Bee Company we were also retained to build a new website for the charity Iain and Suzie have setup, RePollinate.
Be You Hair and Beauty
BYHB needed a site to showcase their services, and also act as a small online shop to sell hair and beauty products which they have in the salon. The brief was for a very clean, minimalist, style to match the salon, and makes good use of some great photography and a clean colour palette.
The Mad Scrapper
The Mad Scrapper, a scrapbooking and craft supplies store in Haddington, needed a more poweful e-commerce solution as their previous WooCommerce site was slow and not suited to a store with a large number of SKUs. A Shopify store was the obvious solution and our main focus was user experience, making sure customers are able to find the products they are looking for easily and quickly but also encouraging them to browse based on product category and brand.
Bostock Bakery wanted to bring back their famous pizza nights during the COVID-19 lockdown. Verdant Spark created a Shopify store with custom application development that allows customers to order pizzas for a specific collection slot.
U’ve Pulled serve delicious pulled meats at markets and events and during COVID-19 needed to pivot their offering to include delivery and collection. Verdant Spark replaced their Wix website with a Shopify store with custom development of an application to allow ordering for collection or delivery within a specified geographical area.
Crafty Kit Company Trade Store
This Shopify store mimics the look and feel of The Crafty Kit Company consumer store but required custom development to fulfill the requirements of the client; that customers must apply and be approved before being able to view wholesale pricing and place orders. To aid the transition process to the new store, a customer support button was added so Verdant Spark could deal with support issues, saving the client time.
The Scottish Bee Company
As beekeepers we were delighted to work on with The Scottish Bee Company and on a new Shopify store to replace their old WooCommerce site. The new website showcases their delicious honey and gives them an easy to update blog for company news and recipes.
Verdant Spark recently undertook a redesign of the Spice Pots Shopify store.
- Theme installation and customisation
- Bespoke development of blog landing pages
We recently created a Shopify online store for Bostock Bakery in East Linton. Due to Covid-19 they needed to rapidly shift to online ordering and delivery.
The work included custom development of a date picker for delivery day selection, and a back end Shopify application that aggregates orders to show daily totals of items ordered so that the bakery knows order volumes to bake for each day’s delivery.
The Big Blu
A fantastic East Lothian business hit by Covid-19 lockdown, The Big Blu needed to rapidly shift from in person sales to online ordering and delivery.
The work included custom development of delivery day management based on postcode entered, and a bespoke back end admin Shopify application that aggregates orders to show daily totals of pizzas ordered so the client knows exactly how many bases to make the day before.
Chris has also done an amazing job reformulating his pizzas so they are initially fired in The Big Blu’s oven and then topped, so the customer just has to bake in their own oven.
We created a new WordPress website for iHeat Scotland, a Midlothian-based heating and plumbing company.
The brief was for a modern design that emphasised their boiler, landlord and static caravan services.
WordPress & WooCommerce
Verdant Spark created a WordPress site with online shop using WooCommerce for by Julia. The site has a clean and light design that highlights the stunning product photography.
WordPress & WooCommerce
We created this sister site to Verdant Spark to showcase our offering for trades professionals. With a bold, modern design this site uses the colours in the brand logo to good effect.
Haddington & District Amateur Swimming Club
Haddington and District Amateur Swimming Club required a new website to replace a self-built Wix site. The new site reflects the values and ethos of the club and provides all the information parents of prospective members require.
